Goldie Thersa Gottman, daughter of Frank E. and Anna Thersa (Haughton) Smith, was born November 8, 1920, near Queen City, and died Monday, January 18, 1993, in Schuyler County Nursing Home at the age of 72 years, two months, and ten days.

She was united in marriage to John Gottman on February 22, 1942. He survives.

Also surviving are two grandsons, Jeff Gottman, Downing, and Scott Gottman, Cincinnati, Ia.; a daughter-in-law, Dianna Bogle, Chariton, Ia.; her mother, Anna Smith, Emporia, Kan.; three sisters, Mrs. Harold (Thelma) Gottman, Lancaster, Anna Mae Grimmitt, Emporia, Kan., and Wilma Smith, Emporia, Kan.; one brother, Perley Smith, Emporia, Kan.; and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Eugene Gottman who died in an accident on November 29, 1970; her father in 1963; and one brother, Ervin Smith in 1989.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 21, 1993, in Norman Funeral Home, Lancaster, with Pastor Sarah Larsen of St. John's Lutheran Church officiating. Music will be provided by Jo Riley, soloist.

Beareres will be Carl Gottman, Richard Starrett, Robert McElroy, Tom Bogle, Tom Greenstreet, and Keith Foreman.

Honorary bearers will be John Junior Schmitter and Paul Welsh.

Burial will be in Arni Memorial Cemetery, Lancaster.
