Donald Russel Enyart, 77, Postville, Iowa, died Monday, November 23, 2009, at Good Samaritan Center, Postville, Iowa, following a brief illness. Donald was born on May 1, 1932, in rural Postville, Iowa, to James and Frieda (Martens) Enyart. Donald was baptized in the Christian faith on September 25, 1932, and confirmed on April 14, 1946, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Postville, Iowa. Donald graduated from Postville High School in 1950.

Donald was united in marriage to Sara Oelberg on June 7, 1953. Eight children were born to this union. In 1950, Donald started farming and continued until his retirement. He collected coins and belt buckles. He enjoyed traveling and camping. He wintered in Texas for many years. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife, Sara Enyart; seven children, Andy (Sharon) Enyart, Ossian, Timothy (Christine) Enyart, Postville, Janis (David) Swale, West Union, Lori (Mike) Weiss, Detroit Lakes, MN, Donna (Brad) Storm, Delton, MI, Steven (Paula) Enyart, Postville, Elizabeth (Andrew) Kuehl, Atkins; twenty-five grandchildren, Jerrod (Erin) Enyart, Darrel (Lisa) Enyart, Gerry Wertz, Mindy Reigel, Matthew Wertz, Brian (Monica) Enyart, Mark Enyart, Cindy Enyart, Jason Enyart, Denise (Josh) Hagen, Dawn (Christopher) Lambert, John (Nikkole) Marreel, Jacqueline (Steven) Blank, Ryan Swale, Matthew Weiss, Andrea Weiss, Sarah (Jim) Bovia, Shannon Kirkestue, Riley Storm, Austin Storm, Adam Enyart, Alexander Enyart, Avery Enyart, Logan Kuehl, Genevieve Kuehl; twelve great-grandchildren and two sisters-in-law, Beulah Enyart and Esther Enyart.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Joel Enyart; one granddaughter, Caryn Enyart and two brothers, Hartley Enyart Sr. and William Enyart.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 27, 2009, at 11:00 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville, Iowa. The Rev. Steve Brackett will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Postville Cemetery, Postville, Iowa.
