Mr. Babb was a former resident of Clinton and was a native of Oak Ridge.
He was a sales representative for the Bailey Co. of Knoxville and a U.S. Navy veteran.
Mr. Babb was an avid fan of University of Tennessee sports and was a longtime TSSAA and NCAA official.
Mr. Babb is survived by his mother, Helen Rogers Babb; two daughters, Tracie Porter and her husband, Walter, and Angela Flammang and her husband, Ron; his grandchildren, John Ellis Porter, Alan Porter, Sarah Flammang, Thomas Flammang and Laura Flammang; his sister, Pamela Gable; and four brothers, James Babb, Richard Babb, Larry Babb and Stanley Babb.
He is also survived by his fiancée, Sandy Starrett, and her daughters and grandsons, Shannon Boyd, Ashley Starrett, Tanner Starrett and Tucker Boyd.
His father, Harold Wayne Babb, and another sister, Erma Jean Babb, died earlier.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, in the Broadway Chapel of Rose Mortuary, 1421 Broadway N.E., Knoxville. The Rev. Kenneth Green will officiate.
Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight, Oct. 18, at the mortuary.
