Born September 20, 1926, in Hot Springs, to Ernest and Hattie Young Dodd, he was a United States Army World War II and Korean War veteran, retired carpenter and Baptist.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Virginia Dodd, of Hot Springs; two sons and daughters-in-laws, Larry and Noot Dodd, of Thailand, and Mike and Linda Dodd, of Hot Springs; one daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Don Everright, of Royal; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Joe and Helen Dodd and Derrel and Sharon Dodd, all of Hot Springs; one sister and brother-in law, Sandy and John Sparks of Dallas, Texas; thirteen grandchildren, twenty five great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; and many good friends.
Graveside service were held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, November 27, 2009, at Memorial Gardens with his grandsons, Jonah Dodd and Tom Hunter officiating.
Pallbearers were: Angelo Bailey, Clint Harris, Seth Hunter, David Irpino, Steve Penor, Tommy Hampton and John Freeman.
Honorary Pallbearers were: Ralph, Harrison, Sam Harrison, Wally Harrison, Arthur Austin, Ms. Lorin Harrison, Jr., Dr. Amr Bacil, Dr. Richard Finch, National Park Medical Center Med Surge, ICU and the case management department.
