Virginia Curtis, 90, of Sterling, died Sept. 30, 2009, in Sterling. Graveside memo rIal services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, at Riverside Cemetery, with the Rev. Doug Burroughs officiating.
She was born May 13, 1919, to John and Emillie (Zoilner) Jung in New England, N.D.
On May 19, 1951, she married Asa H. Curtis in Holyoke.
Mrs. Curtis was a custodian at the Herbie Dorm at NJC from 1972 until 1982. She worked at Sterling Living Center as a CNA and she volunteered at the Area Agency on Aging and Meet and Eat. She was a former member of the First Foursquare Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Debra J. Bower of Colorado Springs; sister; Kathryn Steen of New England, N.D.; four grand children; and eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Asa Curtis in 1991; son, Rickie Curtis; four brothers; and eight sisters.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Plains.
Chaney-Reager Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
