Jonathan died April 22, 1900

Citizens of this place were surprised Sunday morning to hear of the sudden death of Jonathan Dunfee; an aged and respected citizen of north Chauncey street. The deceased has been in poor health for the past year, but of late seemed to be improved. He was taken with severe cramps Saturday afternoon and a physician was summoned and did all that could be done, but at 1 o'clock Sunday morning his agonies were over and life became extinct.
Mr. Dunfee was a native of Pennsylvania, and was born June 9, 1826 being 73 years, 10 months and 13 days of age at the time of his death. He was married October 18th, 1841 to Mary A. Quick, of Holmes county, Ohio, and in the fall of 1850 he came to this county, locating in Jefferson township, where he resided until moving to this city. He was a father of seven children, six of whom survive. Infirmities due to old age was the principle cause of his death. The funeral took place Tuesday forenoon at the Evergreen Bethel church in Jefferson township and interment was in the church cemetery.
