Services for Samuel Uiel Bulloch, 83, are at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 17, 2003, with the Rev. David Pickering officiating. Interment is in Macedonia Cemetery. Active pallbearers will include John Whitfield, Warner NeSmith, Sonny Sculley, Joe Miller, Glen Morrell and R. L. Brannon.
Mr. Bulloch died Tuesday, July 15, at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville. Mr. Bulloch was born in Grady County, Ga., March 24, 1920, to the late Willie Glen and Lillie Mae Spence Bulloch. He was a lifetime resident of Grady County and was a farmer. Mr. Bulloch was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Adams Bulloch, whom he married Nov.1, 1941 in Ochlocknee; daughter, Janice Elliott of Ochlocknee; granddaughters and grandsons-on-law, Sammie and Sam Hester, of Hinesville, Kelli and John Whitfield of Anniston, Ala; great grandchildren, Anna and Alli Hester, both of Hinesville, Connor and Haydon Whitfield of Anniston; brothers, Fred and Newell Bulloch, both of Pelham; sisters, Lula Morrell and Doris Knight, both of Thomasville; and a special friend, Bobby Wind, of Cairo.
Mr. Bulloch was preceded in death by a son, Samuel Uiel, Bulloch, Jr., who died in Vietnam; brothers, Bill, Collie, Cype and Henry Bulloch; and sisters, Julia Cooper, Hazel Lee and Betty Sue Bulloch.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery Fund. - Clark Funeral Home
