Mrs. Cooper Dies at 83
FORT PLAIN - Mrs. Gertrude Cooper, 83, of West St., this village, died Sunday evening in Amsterdam Memorial Hospital, after a brief illness. Born Nov. 26, 1888 in Fort Plain, she was the daughter of Henry J. and Caroline Reamon Shaffer. She was a member of Fort Plain Reformed Church, and the Fort Plain Chapter, OES. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Donald Leip and Miss Ada Cooper both of Fort Plain; two sisters, Mrs. Andrew Fonda of Nelliston, and Mrs. Allen Young of Johnstown; three grandsons, one grand daughter and one great granddaughter. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Gray Funeral Home, here, with the Rev. Robert Hess, pastor of Fort Plain Reformed Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fort Plain Cemetery. Calling hours are today from 7 to 9 p.m. and tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Mid-County Volunteer Ambulance Service.
