Leslie C. "Chuck" Ake, 56, of Monticello, died at 5:53 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, at his residence.
He was born Feb. 17, 1953 in Akron, Ohio to the late Gerald Ake and Laura Johnson Ake. He was married on July 28, 1972, in Kent, Ohio, to Carolyn S. McCumbers. She survives.
Surviving with his wife are a daughter, Carrie L. Sherrick (husband: Tyson) of Monon; sons, David C. Ake (fiancée: Anje) of Muncie and Bobby Ake (fiancée: Miranda) of Lafayette and a sister, Diane Ake of Akron, Ohio.
He was a retired firefighter, serving on the Purdue University Fire Department for 16 years.
He was a veteran of the Air Force.
