Andrew Bricker, 37, Ft. Wayne, died Saturday, November 14, 2009, at his residence.
He was born January 3, 1972, in LaGrange, to David and Ann (Schlemmer) Bricker.
Moving back to Ft. Wayne recently from Long Beach, Calif., where he had lived since January 2009, he was a 1991 graduate of Lakeland High School, attended ITT Tech in Ft. Wayne, and received a BA in Business Management from Walden University. He was a former event meeting manager at the Hilton Fort Wayne. He was involved with many civic organizations in the Ft. Wayne area, including Ft. Wayne Hospitality Association, Young Leaders of Northeast Indiana, Ft. Wayne Chamber of Commerce, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Junior Achievement, Science Central, and Family and Children's Services.
Surviving are his parents, David and Ann Bricker, Howe; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jennifer and Rick McBride, Howe, and Julie and Dana Hochstetler, LaGrange; grandparents Marjorie Bricker, Miller's Merry Manor, and Ruth Schlemmer, LaGrange; and seven nieces and nephews, Jonathon, Matthew, and Kalei Bollinger, all of Howe, and Logan, Janessa, Jillian, and Abigail Hochstetler, all of LaGrange.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Melvin Bricker of Howe and Verne Schlemmer of LaGrange.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, November 22, at the Grand Wayne Center Calhoun Ballroom in Ft. Wayne and 2:30 p.m. Sunday, November 29, at the Howe United Methodist Church with visitation from 1-2 p.m. at the church.
