Daughter of the late Forest H. and Margaret Leigh Hedges Barns, she attended a country school and worked on a farm in Lamont, OK, where she lived for 70 years until moving to Ponca City, OK. She was a member of Rebekkuh Lodge as was a past worthy matron. She was a member of Lamont Christian Church. She owned and operated a restaurant, worked at J.W. Cafe in Lamont, and drove a school bus for Lamont Public Schools. She was a projectionist at Rollier Theater in Lamont. She was the widow of C. Warren Bucher (married on November 14, 1947, In Medford, OK). She was survived by three children, Karen Wilcox, Butch Bucher and Ann Dick; a sister; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-grand-children. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, one sister and one infant daughter. Her funeral was held November 23, 2009, with The Rev. Jeff McReynolds officiating.
