Son of Jacob Goodnight

First married Sallie C. Williams on May 28, 1872

although the grave marker has the last name as "Goodknight", his death certificate, as well as other documents have "Goodnight." Additionally, his wife and son used the Goodnight spelling. For these reasons, I list him here as Goodnight.

Perryville, Ky., March 25 - Mr. Malcolm R. Goodnight died Wednesday night at his home near Stewartsville after a long illness. Mr. Goodnight was 84 years old and a member of the Perryville christian Church. He is well known here where he had many friends, having lived here in former years and near Brumfield until just a few years ago. He is survived by his wife and three daughters, Mrs. Frank Jones, of Columbus, Ohio; Mrs. Frank Gammons and Mrs. Lamb; one son, William Goodnight, and one brother, Mr. Wallace Goodnight, of Perryville. Funeral services were conducted at his home Thursday afternoon by Rev. G.W. Mills and interment followed at Carpenter's burying ground.
