Funeral Services Scheduled For Mr. Bradley
Samuel Alphonse Bradley, long time resident of the Bebe community, died at the Crews hospital at 4:20 a.m. Sunday following an illness of about a week.
Services were to be conducted from tje Monthalia Methodist church t 4 p.m. today, Monday, by the Rev. Arthur Peterson, pastor, burial was to follow in the Wrightsboro cemetery. Seydler Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
Masonic services were held at the graveside with the Wrightsboro chapter No. 317 in charge.
The son of Samuel L. (Joe) and Fannie Ophelia Pierpont Bradley, Mr. Bradley was born at Wrightsboro on February 17, 1886. He was married to Miss Maude Keck of the Floyd's Chapel community on November 18, 1909. They had lived in the Wrightsboro community for a few years before moving to his present home in Bebe wherehehad operated a gin there for many years and also for a short time in the Rio Grande Valley, returning to Bebe as a farmer and stockman.
A longtime member of the Methodist faith, he was at the time of his death a member of the Monthalia Methodist church, a member of the Wrightsboro Masonic lodge and of the order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Warren (Maxine) Moody of Giddings; and one son, Aubrey Bradley of Port Lavaca; six grandchildren, Mrs. Rudolph (Jo Ann) Murller of Downey, Calif.; Warren Bradley and Sammie Jane Moody of Giddings; Andrew, Diane and John Thornton Bradley all of Port Lavaca.
Also surviving him are one brother, W. A. Bradley of Wrightsboro; five sisters, Mrs. G. J. Merritt of Austin; Mrs. H. H. Creed, amiss Wilma Bradley and Mrs. J. C. Farmer, all of Gonzales; and Mrs. E. H, Graham of Pasadena.
He was preceded in death by a son, Thornton Pierpont Bradley in 1937; two brothers, G. E. and Boy Bradley, and one sister, Mrs. Tom Buchanan.
