GIRARD - Johnnie Agnes Pyle, 87, of Girard, died at 11:50 p.m., Tuesday, March 28, 2006, at the Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center in Pittsburg, where she entered March 23.

She was born March 15, 1919, in Branson, Mo., to Charles and Laura (Maddox) Rowland.

She grew up and attended schools in Arma.

She married Thomas R. Pyle on April 1, 1947, in Fort Scott. He survives of the home.

After their wedding, they lived in Girard before moving to Farlington in 1953.

She was a homemaker and she also worked at the Todd Cheese Factory in Girard and the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant in Parsons.

They moved to Great Bend in 1971 and retired to Girard in 1983.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Farlington, the United Methodist Women, and the Farlington Ladies Aid.

Additional survivors include two daughters, Donna Goodwin of Wichita and Judy Brooks of Stilwell; three grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Marion Rowland in April 1982, Claude Rowland in September 1969, and Albert Rowland in April 1984.

Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church in Farlington with Rev. Steve Cole officiating.

Burial will be in the Farlington Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard where friends may call after 1 p.m. today.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home of Girard.
