MASEDONIA MARIA QUINTANA
Age 92, a lifelong resident of La Puebla, passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at the Albuquerque Kaseman Presbyterian Hospice, surrounded by her family who loved her very much. She was preceded in death by her husband, Esquipula Quintana; parents, Meliton and Estefanita Lucero; sons, Paul, Henry, Meliton; daughters, Carol Montoya, Helen and Pauline; son-in-law, Serafin Montoya; brothers, George, Liberato, Joe and Delfino Lucero; sisters, Sarita Herrera and Adelina Martinez; grandchildren, Donald, Henry Jr., Leonard and Melissa Quintana and Arturo and Ricky Montoya. Mrs. Quintana is survived by her daughters, Sylvia Hayes and husband Robert, Senaida Rivera and husband John of Albuquerque, Virginia Ulibarri and husband Jerome of Cheyenne, Wyoming; son, Albie Quintana and wife Rose of La Puebla; daughter-in-law, Sally Quintana of Española; 21 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great grandchildren; very close cousin she loved like a son, Joe Montoya and wife Cecilia of Española; very special niece she loved like a daughter, Tillie Perez of La Puebla; nieces who were always there to lend a helping hand, Judy and Grace Martinez and Ruby Montoya all of La Puebla, her caregiver, Natalie Montoya of La Puebla and numerous other relatives and friends. Serving as pallbearers, Freddy Sanchez, Joshua Quintana, Phil Hayes, Leonard Quintana, Andrew Lucero, Jason Esquibel. Honorary pallbearers named are, Arthur Perez, Augustine Zamora, John Hayes, Daniel Gallegos, Jesus Perez and Abigael Muñoz. The Quintana family has entrusted their loved one to DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Española Valley.
