Benny was born Dec. 10, 1933, to E.T. and Lexie Mae Peyton Cox in Alvord. He was a graduate of Texas Tech University and retired as a financial service consultant. Benny served in United States Marines.
Survivors: Son, Brad Cox and wife, Kim; daughter, Kaylah Johnson and husband, Jef, both of Arlington; mother, Lexie Cox of Decatur; grandchildren, Shay and Kendra Cox and J.L. and Bradley Johnson, all of Arlington; and great-grandson, Kalven Cox.
