OBITUARY - Plain Dealer, Wabash (IN)

Funeral servcies for Mrs. Rhoda Jane Newbright, 96, who died Monday noon will be held Thursday morning at 10:30 o'clock in the Hoover-Miner Funeral home with Dr. Ware W. Wimberly officiating.

Mrs. Newbright was born May 23, 1853 in Wabash County near Lagro to John and Clarissa Jacobs. She attended the Hopewell school when a child and at the age of 17 was married to David Imlay Brady, who preceded her in death. They were the parents of four children, two of them, Mrs. W.F. Warrington, Wabash, and Mrs. O.L. Talmage, Chicago, Ill., survive. A son, William Bernard Brady, and a daughter, Mrs. S.J. Stern, formerly of San Francisco, Calif., also preceded her in death.

On Sept. 7, 1893 she was united in marriage to Henry H. Newbright, Huntington, who died Sept. 11, 1925. She resided in Hammond until after Mr. Newbright's death and then moved to California to reside with her daughter and son. Mrs. Newbright returned to Wabash in 1928 making her home with her daughters and for the last nine years had made her home entirely with Mrs. Warrington where death occured.

She had one sister, Mrs. William H. Thomas, and one brother, George Newman, who also preceded her in death. Other survivors include two grandchildren, Mrs. S.R. Shambaugh, and Mrs. Willard Rohrer, Wabash, and three great-grandchildren. A grandson, J. Howard Talmage, Rochester, N.Y., died about two weeks ago.
