Banker. Born June 5, 1861, in Rosko, Poland. In 1868 came to U.S., settling in Dunkirk, N. Y. In 1872 came to Chicago and settled here permanently. In 1882 organized St. Cecilia Society, lodge 14 of P.R.C.U., in Chicago. Since 1885 delegate to all the National Conventions of Polish Roman Catholic Union. In 1895 elected director and in 1910 elected cashier of said organization. In 1911 re-elected cashier. For a long time a councilman of the City of Chicago. For his honesty in public work was known as "Honest John." Deputy coroner, 1899-1903; deputy sheriff, 1900-1910. Founder of the Pulaski Loan and Building Association and president of the State League of the Polish Loan and Building Association for 25 years. Married Constance Solinska in 1899. Father of six children. Member of St. Stanislaus Parish, Chicago, Ill.
