Georgia Death Certificate: Leander G. ARMSTRONG was born in 1854 in Georgia [sic, 1860 census indicates Charleston, subsequent censuses indicate South Carolina] to Benjamin Remington ARMSTRONG I, who was born in Rhode Island, and Elizabeth M. FERGUSON, who was born in [Charleston] South Carolina. He was a retired bookkeeper, a resident of #8 Neil Street West, who was single, and who died at St. Josephs Hospital, at the age of 72, with burial in Laurel Grove. The informant for his death certificate was Robert W. GROVES, of Strachan & Co. [Robert Walker GROVES was a partner in that firm with Lee's brother, George Ferguson ARMSTRONG].
