MEARNS, James "Jim" (Age 90)
Passed away on Saturday, January 12th, 2008 in Spokane, WA. Jim was born in Wilbur on February 14th, 1917 to Frank and Minnie (Miller) Mearns.
He enjoyed woodworking, restoring antique cars, dancing, and riding horses.
Jim is survived by his son Bob Mearns and Karen of Las Vegas, NV; his daughter Linda Walters and Ed of Redwood City, CA; grandchildren, Joel and Robin Mearns, Nannette Bolyard, Scott and Lisa Mearns, Laurie and Mark Bruins, and James and Jessica Walters; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and his very special friend Betty Burger. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Marie in 1999; one son, Jerry in 1998; and one infant daughter.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 19th, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Strate Funeral Home, Davenport, WA. Concluding Services and Vault Interment will follow at Wilbur Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to attend a gathering at the Wilbur Sr. Center at 2:00 p.m. following the services.
