Service for Robert L. "Bob" Nerger, 67, will be at 2 p.m. today at Riplinger Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.

Born in Detroit, Mr. Nerger died Sunday.

Mr. Nerger served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He retired as a master sergeant and earned a Purple Heart. He later served in the Washington National Guard.

Mr. Nerger was a mail carrier for the Postal Service. He retired in 1995.

He was a 30-year Mead resident and was a member of the Hillyard Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite Bodies, the El Katif Shrine, the Legion of Honor and the Order of DeMolay. He was also a member of the Spokane Chiefs Booster Club.

Mr. Nerger was active with the International Order of Job's Daughters in Spokane. He also served on the board of the Spokane Postal Credit Union.

Survivors include his wife, Sherry; five sons, Wayne and Scott Nerger, both of Spokane, Curtis Nerger of Newman Lake, Lawerence Nerger of Denver and Paul Nerger of London; a daughter, Stacey Nerger of Mead; a brother, Paul Nerger of Fort Collins, Colo.; two sisters, Ruthellyn Glidden of San Diego and Carol Jordan of Prescott, Ariz.; and eight grandchildren.
