David grew up in Wall Lake, Iowa. He worked as a welder at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio during WW II. He was a troubleshooter for Iowa Power and Light for thirty-five years.
He was united in marriage to the Barbara Ann Curry on December 19, 1974 at Chicago, IL. They lived most of their married live in Des Moines. David was a member of the Des Moines police auxiliary, Masonic Lodge and the United Methodist Church.
David was a private pilot; he flew many small aircraft and was a member of the civilian air patrol. David and Barbara enjoyed square dancing and traveling. They traveled to Russia, Egypt and the Holy Land. Many of their trips were with the United Methodist Church in Des Moines. David enjoyed doing cross-stitch, photography and listening to Barbara play the organ. David had an abiding interest in the community.
Those relatives who preceded David in death were his parents; wife Barbara; his brother; and four sisters.
He leaves to cherish his memory, son, Dave Kaiser and wife Debra of Springport, MI; step-daughters, Deborah Ann Reilly and husband Thomas of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Candace Lou Campbell of Charleston, SC; grandson, Robert John Kaiser and wife Mia of Elkton, MD; granddaughter, Rebecca Ann Kaiser of Jackson, MI; grandson, Jared Michael Reilly of Mt. Pleasant, SC; grandson, Brendan Patrick Reilly of Mt. Pleasant, SC, great-grandson, Brody Kaiser of Elkton, MD, great-granddaughter, Mira Kaiser Hawkins of Jackson, MI; sister, Lorna Winchell of Wall Lake, IA; other relatives and friends.
