ZEPHANIAH HAYS, farmer, P. O. Palermo, came to Kansas in April, 1855, and located in Marion Township, Doniphan County, where he has lived since. He is Township trustee and Clerk of School District No. 11. Mr. Hays was born in Jackson County, Ohio, December 11, 1847, and lived in his native place until his seventh year and then came to Kansas with his parents. He was married in Troy, Doniphan County, February 27, 1880, to Miss Addie A. Little, a native of New Hampshire. They have two children, whose names are: John Nathaniel and Emmett Emerson.
