Major League Baseball Team Owner. He was an owner of the Cincinnati Reds baseball team. He pioneered radio starting with low-powered transmitters and built it into Radio Station WLW, which once broadcasted with 500,000 watts in the 1930's. He produced home appliances including a refrigerator with shelves on the door, called the Crosley Shelvador. Crosley also manufactured a compact automobile called the "Crosley". Sports-wise, he purchased majority interest in the Cincinnati Reds baseball team in 1936 and held that ownership until his death.
