An international rugby player for Scotland and the British Isles, who also played rugby league for Wigan and Britain. He played three Tests for Scotland, as well as four for the British Isles and six other matches on the 1924 tour of South Africa. In WWII he served as a flight sergeant in the Air Force, but had the misfortune to die while playing in a services match.

Son of Robert Mitchell Kinnear and Agnes Kinnear, of Edinburgh; husband of Annie S. Kinnear, of Edinburgh.
