Born in Tingtraehuset, Jerslev, Hjorring, Denmark, the son of Poul Christensen & Mette Johanne Jensdatter. Married Maria Magdalena Nielsen (Lane) and Ane Kjerstine Caroline Nielsen (Lena) The children by his first wife went by the name of Poulsen except for one child who went by the name of Paulsen. The children of his second went by the name of Christensen.

(Headstone lists him as dying in 1919, but all records show his death in 1920.)
