Son of Caleb Larue Weaver and spouse May Helen (Waddell) Weaver, 7th of nine children born to the family.

"FSU Professor Emeritus Dies. J. Clark Weaver, 85, 1708 Myrick Road, died Sunday at Tallahassee Memorial Regional Medical Center.

No services are planned.

A native of Elgin, Ore., he had lived in Tallahassee since 1965. He was a retired professor emeritus at the College of Communication at Florida State University. He taught broadcasting at the University of Florida from 1949 to 1964, and at FSU from 1965 until his retirement in 1973.

He was an editor of Players, the publication of the National Collegiate Players, from 1947 to 1958 and had two textbooks published in 1984.

Survivors include a son, Bennett Weaver of Oak Park, Ill.; and two grandchildren. (Culley's MeadowWood Riggins Road Chapel)"
