John was Captain in Revolutionary 1782. Appointed by Virginia Gov. Ben. J Harrison. Organized 1st Militia in Kentucky. Captain of it. Served under Gen. George Rogers Clark. Built and Defended forts. Fought Indian raids. Came to Indiana in 1810.

Original coast of arms worn by the Lords of Innisowen of Dougherty castle, on Lock
Swilley, Donegal Co. Ireland. It's meaning - translated for my hereditary right
ingraved in stone above the fireplace in main room of the castle - these words
'Accepted Christianity 652 A.D."
