Jess D. Nelson died Thursday, April 7, 1977, in the Muskogee General Hospital. Services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Hersman Funeral Chapel with Rev. J. L. Potter officiating. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery with pallbearers, Hulen Foster, Gary Cooper, Frank Edwards, L. J. Robinsons, Willie Cotton and Nolen Perryman.
Born June 2, 1911 in Vian, Oklahoma, Mrs. Nelson moved to Wagoner as a small boy and lived here the rest of his life. He was a farmer and a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Gelator of the home; two daughters, Betty Hall of Detroit and Wilma Goins of Wagoner; two brothers, Eddie of Tulsa and Otis of Wagoner; 12 grandchildren, and a great grandchild.
