Mrs. C. W. Reed Passed Away Tuesday
Mrs. C. W. Reed, a well known resident of Montgomery county practically her entire life, passed away Tuesday at her home in Wellsville after several weeks' illness. She was the former Miss Birdie McCall Smith.
Funeral services will be held at the Wellsville Baptist church Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. L. F. Admire, and burial will be in the Wellsville cemetery.

MOTHER OF C. W. REED, JR. PASSED AWAY TUESDAY
Mrs. C. W. Reed, Sr., passed away Tuesday morning after a lingering illness, at her home in Wellsville.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the Baptist church in Wellsville and interment took place in the cemetery there.
Mrs. Reed is survived by her husband and two children, Charley Reed of this city and Mrs. Ed Medberry of New York.

LAST RITES HELD FOR MRS. CHARLES REED AT WELLSVILLE
Birdie McCall Smith, only daughter of Sarah Newton Tannehill and William Wyatt Smith, was born near Jonesburg, Missouri, and lived there through her childhood. After completing her public school work at Kirksville Normal school. She taught school in High Hill and several years in Wellsville, Missouri, teaching the first course in Latin.
She was united in marriage on October 3, 1898, to Charles Watkins Reed. To this union three children were born, the first of which, William Wyatt Reed, died at the age of 15 months on November 24, 1900, on the same month and day, Mrs. Reed passed away, Charles Watkins Reed, Jr., and Sarah Agnes Reed Medbery surviving.
As a young woman she united with the Wellsville Baptist Church, under the pastorate of Rev. Jessie in a revival meeting conducted by Rev. S. M. Brown, former editor of the Missouri Baptist paper, "The Word and Way."
For about thirteen years she taught the Sallie Sisk Sunday School class, and was active in missionary endeavors. She was very active in the building of the new Baptist Church.
She was a charter member of the Wellsville Cemetery Association, and remained a member through her lifetime.
She leaves in passing her husband, of the home, her son, Charles of Montgomery City, and her daughter, Sarah Agnes of New York City, also four grandchildren Charles Watkins Reed III, William Wyatt Reed, James Rudolph Reed and Sherrell Lee Medbery, and a host of relatives and firends.
She will be greatly missed by the family, the church, the community and especially remembered for her service to others.
