Sarah Canady Gryder, 83, of Stephenville died Tuesday, March 15, 2011 in Stephenville.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, March 19th at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel will Rev. Dale Cartwright and Rev. Steve Hogard officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.

Sarah was born on March 19, 1927, in [Breckenridge, Stephens] County to the late Olah James and Annie Sue Lockhart Canady. She married James [Harrod] Gryder in [June 5,] 1965. James preceded her in death October 30, 1998. Sarah was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, and had lived most of her life in Erath County. She was an office worker for Poston Feed for several years.

Survivors include her sons, John and wife Lana Murphy of Waco, Patrick and wife Teri Murphy of Colorado, O. C. 'Mike' and wife Chris Murphy of Green Valley, Arizona, and Larry Gryder of Oklahoma; step-daughters, Jo Ann and husband Rodger Elston of Lingleville, Gloria Wagner of Stephenville, and Gayle Smith of Bryan; sisters, Ann Parham of Glen Rose, Marcia Capell of Granbury, and Janette Pierce of Cleburne; brother, Joe Canady of Stephenville; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
