CARSON MCCLOUD "SKEET" RUSSELL, JR. of The Woodlands, Texas, son of C.M. Russell, Sr. and Alice Tureaud Russell, died May 28th, 2008.
Born January 9, 1924 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Skeet graduated from Navasota High School and attended Texas A&M before proudly serving his country in WWII.
His war service included D-Day in Normandy and The Battle of the Bulge.
He returned to earn his Chemical Engineering degree at LSU.
Skeet was a Conroe area resident for the last 39 years.
Preceded in death by his parents, sister, grandson, and wife of 46 years, Merle Tompkins Russell, he is survived by daughter Kim Carson Russell Heathcote and her husband, Mark; sons Ike Russell and Mike Russell and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation is Sunday, June 1st, 5:00 7:00 p.m. at Forest Park The Woodlands. A service celebrating his life will be held Monday, June 2nd at 10:00 a.m. at Forest Park The Woodlands with Rev. John Singleton officiating.
Mr. Russell will be laid to rest at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery in Houston, Texas following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donation suggestions include the Alzheimer's Assoc., American Heart Assoc., First Presbyterian Church of Conroe, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), or the charity of your choice.
