The body was laid to rest in the German cemetery north of Blue Hill. The pall bearers were: August Dahms, August Jahn, F.C. Krueger, Charles Siebrass, Julius Kottwitz and August Kort.

Mr. Boettcher was an old resident of this community and was held in the highest regard by all who knew him. The funeral was very largely attended, many people from far and near coming to pay their last respects to their old friend and to extend sympathy to the bereaved family.

Henry Boettcher, was born at Leate Bremen, Hanover, Germany, Nov. 15, 1845, and at his death was aged 70 years, 6 months and 4 days. He came to the United States in 1858 and resided at Bland, Mo., for twenty years.

At the age of 17 Mr. Boettcher enlisted in the service of his adopted country and served as a member of a Missouri regiment until the close of the Civil War.

In 1866 Mr. Boettcher was united in marriage to Miss Elizabeth Kranau, who survives him. Eight children were born to this union, three of whom died in infancy. The surviving children are Mrs. Dan Krueger, Mrs. Robert Blum, Mrs. Theodore Bachman, Mrs. William Bachman and August Boettcher.
