Colleen Ping May, 80, of Greenwood, passed away Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009.
She had worked at G.C. Murphy in Fountain Square and H.P. Wasson in Eastgate for 10 years and retired after 22 years with the Defense Finance and Accounting Center at Fort Benjamin Harrison.
Colleen sang with Mothers Chorus at School 89 and was active in the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.
She was a member of Irvington Presbyterian Church for 53 years. She taught Sunday school, worked with the junior high youth group and was active in circles and the Tuesday Ladies Craft Club.
Colleen was born Nov. 20, 1928, the daughter of Allen and Charlotte (Miller) Ping.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald May; and her son, Gary May.
Colleen is survived by her daughter, Sharon Bailey; a brother, James Ping; a daughter-in-law, Jane May; many nieces and nephews; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Wilma McGown.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center, Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis. Calling will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis.
