Rose M. Boland, 91, Washington, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, in Washington.
Mrs. Boland, the daughter of the late Vincent Lo Russo and his wife Serafina, nee Giordano, was born May 4, 1918, in St. Louis.
She received her education from St. Louis city schools.
On April 30, 1949, she was united in marriage to Anthony Boland at St. Ambrose Church in St. Louise.
Rose was a member of St. Francis Borgia Church, craft club, and St. Francis Borgia Ladies Sodality.
Mrs. Boland worked at Wimpy's and Schroeder Drugs.
She enjoyed life as a proud mother of seven, grandmother of 11, great-grandmother of one, the best mother-in-law of five, aunt, sister, sister-in-law and cousin of many and friend to all.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Anthony Boland on Feb. 22, 1990; brothers and sisters.
Among her survivors are four sons, Phillip Boland and wife Karen, San Antonio, Texas, Jerry Boland, Denver, Colo., Glenn Boland and wife Jone, St. Louis, and Ken Boland and wife Joyce, St. Louis; three daughters, Saralie Pulliam, Washington, Judy Boland, St. Louis, and Susan Boland and John Reid, Lock Haven, Pa.; two sisters, Filomena Varagona and Josie Marnatti, both of St. Louis; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; other relatives and many friends.
A Mass of Christian burial was held Friday, Nov. 13, at St. Francis Borgia Church with interment in the church cemetery.
Officiating was the Rev. John Mayo.
Memorials to the St. Francis Borgia Grade School or Masses are preferred.
Arrangements were in care of Nieburg-Vitt Funeral Home, Washington.
