Tuesday at 4:15 p.m. at
Galveston County Memorial
Hospital after a short illness.
Funeral services will begin
at 10 a.m. Thursday at James
Crowder Funeral Home, the
Rev. Gelbert Herin, pastor of
the United Pentacostal Church
Texas City, officiating.
Burial will follow at La Marque
City Cemetary.
Sparks was born July 12, 1895,
in Arkansa&. He was a retired
cement contractor and a resident
of La Marque for the past 38
years.
He is survived by four
daughters; Mrs. L. R. Doss
of Texas City. Mrs. Don
Callier of La Marque, Mrs.
A. H. Hockenberry of South
Houston, Mrs. Sloyce Four of
Tulsa, Okla: two sons. Clinton
G. Sparks Jr. of Little Rock
and Jim Sparks of Corpus;
four sisters, Mrs. Asa Lee
Purtle of Texarkana, Mrs.
A. Franks of Pine Bluff, Mrs.
Erie Ross of Glendale. Calif,
and Mrs. Isaac Renfro of Texas
City; two borthers, Clarence
Sparks and Marion C. Sparks
of Hope, Ark.; 23 grandchildren,
and 5 great great -
grandchildren.
