From the research of Find-A-Grave contributor, author, and historian Joseph Carvalho III:

"1st wife was Anna Maria Dodge (born July 7, 1839, in Charlton, Massachusetts); married April 24, 1857, in Spencer, Massachusetts. She died before 1867.

George served as a Corporal in Company G of the 61st Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry Regiment during the Civil War."
