John Bryant Batton was the son of Abraham Batton and Sarah Drucilla Gardner, who were m. in Houston Co., GA in 1842 and moved to Irwin Co. ca 1855/1856. John Bryant m/1 Sibba Stone and m/2 Arlie Virginia Dorminey. He died of Consumption (TB). He had three children from his first marriage: Lena, who died from burns when she fell into a fireplace at approx. age 12; Mattie; and William A. From his second marriage, he had children: Charlie Bryant; Ida Alice; Emma Drucilla; Frank Bascom; Minnie L. (d.y.); Mamie (d.y.); and Arthur Wesley.
