Ethel 'Violet' (Fain) Turknett, age 84, of Elkhart, Texas died November 8, 2009, at Palestine Regional Medical Center, Palestine, Texas. Burial at Land of Memory Cemetery was under the direction of Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home. She was born March 1, 1925, in Dallas, Texas to the late Hershel and Ethel Crandall Fain. Mrs. Turknett had lived here since 1965 and was a Christian. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie Turknett, on May 2, 1997; two brothers; and two sisters. Mrs. Turknett is survived by 5 sons; 4 daughters; a brother; 26 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren; and nine great great-grandchildren.
