Pitman Hardsaw, an aged citizen, died at his home at New Amsterdam, Thursday, Mar 3 (1910). He had been in ill health all winter but was only bedfast for one week. The funeral services were held from the M.E. church Friday at ten o'clock, Rev. E.B. Meginity officiating. The remains were laid to rest in the New Amsterdam cemetery. Mr. Hardsaw was born near Valley City (Indiana) and spent all his life in that vicinity. He was for many years undertaker at New Amsterdam and was widely known. He was a good man and had many friends. Besides his widow he is survived by a son who resides in Tennessee and nine grandchildren. Had he lived a few days longer the deceased would have been seventy-seven years old."
