Mrs. Elvira Butcher, aged 86, a lifelong resident of Monroe County and one of the oldest citizens, died at three o'clock Sunday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clarence Allen, North Lincoln Street.
Mrs. Butcher was born in this county and had lived here all her life. Her husband died several years ago. The deceased is survived by fhe following children: Mrs. Allen, Mrs. Thomas Sparks, Mrs. George Gartin, Mrs. Lee Umbarger, Daniel, Berry, and Finley Butcher.
The funeral was held at two o'clock this afternoon at the first Baptist Church in charge of the Rev. James Brown and interment took place at Rose Hill Cemetery.
