H.L. Alexander, 86, passed away Sat. Nov. 7, 2009 at the G.V. Sonny Montgomery VA Medical Center in Jackson. Visitation will be held today from 5pm.-8pm. at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon and Tues. Nov. 10, 2009 from 9am.-10:45am. at Sand Town Methodist Church in Philadelphia. Funeral Services are 11am. Tues. Nov. 10, 2009 at Sand Town Methodist Church with interment to follow in the Sand Town Methodist Cemetery.
Mr. Alexander was born in Philadelphia and attended Parkway Pentecostal Church. He was the owner of Automatic Transmission Service, which he established in 1954 and is still in operation today. Mr. Alexander served his country in the Marines during WWII and was also an avid fisherman. He is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Levada Alexander; a daughter, Brandy Scarbrough and her husband Matthew; one brother, George Alexander and two sisters, Biddie Lynn Hardy and Bonnie Ruth Wilson.
Mr. Alexander is survived by his wife, Linda Alexander of Jackson; three daughters, Lorese Wolverton and husband Gerald of Madison, Patt Thornton and husband Ed of Terry and Wendy Ramage and husband Jason of Brandon; one sister, Nancy Jane Tolbert of Philadelphia; one brother, W.M. Alexander of Philadelphia; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and a host of relatives and friends.
