ABE SANDERS,75, WEALTHY FARMER DIED ON SUNDAY
Funeral Services to Be Held Tomorrow Morning; Widely Known in State

Abe Sanders, age 75, widely known farmer and race horse owner, died Sunday afternoon at three o'clock at his home, two miles northwest of Forest. He had been ill for the past three months with a complication of diseases and death was not unexpected.
Mr. Sanders had lived on the same farm in Forest Township for fify seven years and was well known in Clinton and adjoining counties. Although a most successful farmer he was best known outsie his own community as an owner and trainer of race horses. When younger he trained many horses, both for himself and others, and had a race track built on his farm. He attended county fairs in all parts of the state with his horses and was known to all followers of the racetrack.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday morning at ten o'clock from the Middlefork Baptist Church. The Rev. Dallas ???? of Forest and W. P. Tedford of Frankfort will officiate and interment willl be made in Union Cemetery.
Mr. Sanders was born in Jennings County, Ind., on November 23, 1850, the son of William and Rebecca Sanders. He came to Clinton County with his parents while a child and has lived here ever since. He was twice married, first to Sina Hopkins in 1871. She died seven years ago on December 12, 1918. He was married on December 27, 1919 to Rose Reed, who survives.
?????????twelve children. Four died in infancy and a daughter, Mrs. Earl Davis, died five yars ago at Michigantown. The seven surviving children are Mrs. Laura Crawford of Frankfort, Fred Sanders of Lebanon, Mrs. Lefa Hamilton of Kokomo, Mrs. Iva Boyer of Valparaiso, and Roy, Guy, and Vernie Sanders of Forest. He also is survived by three brothers and three sisters; John Sanders of Texas, Frank and Aaron Sanders of Forest, Mrs. Sarah Gray of Michigan, and Mrs. Anna Rivers and Mrs. Mollie Crawford of Kokomo.
He was identified with the Masonic and I.O.O. F. lodges at Forest.

The marriage record for Abram Sanders and Siney Hopkins states they were married April 18, 1874 In Howard County, IN. The minister wrote her name as Emily Hopkins.

The marriage license for Abe Sanders and Mary Rosetta Reed states he was born in Hendricks County, IN and they were married Dec. 29, 1919.
