Sept 26, 1933; 68 yr 5 mos; w/o Michael Richard Gaffney; d/o Thomas & Susan Burke) "Mrs. Michael R Gaffney, 68, died Tuesday at Sprague following a long illness. She has been an invalid since suffering a stroke two years ago. She was born in Winona, Minn., April 5, 1865, and came to the Grand Coulee region in Washington territory in 1883. In 1886 she married Mr. Gaffney and came to Sprague, where they lived on a farm north of Sprague until retiring to the city in 1920. She is survived by her widower, also an invalid since a recent stroke; 7 sons, Joseph and James, Sprague; Thomas and Kain, Seattle; Father Mark A. Gaffney, Spokane, and Father Leo Gaffney, Falkenberg, Holland; two brothers, Edward Burke, Spokane, and Thomas Burke, Vulcan, Alta., Canada, and 17 grandchildren. Funeral services were held Thursday, 9 a.m., from the Mary, Queen of Heaven church, in Sprague." (Sept 29, 1933 of Harr.
