He built the family plantation home, Routhland, in Natchez. It burnt in 1855. His son-in-law General Charles G. Dahlgren and daughter, Mary Routh Ellis Dahlgren rebuilt mansion on the same property, and named it Dunleith. Job built another home named Routhland not far from the original property. Routhland and Dunleith still stand in Natchez.
