Mr. Wood of 591 West H. Street, where he lived with his sister, passed away at the age of 94. He was born in Virginia and came to Colton about 50 years ago.
He operated the main stationary, book, magazine and gift store in Colton, on J Street for many years. Before the state took the responsibility of supplying school books for the children of Colton, the children would buy all of their books and school supplies from Mr. Wood.
Never marrying, he is survived by his sister Emma, who also never married and another sister in Kansas. He also has three brothers, F. D. of Long Beach, Harry W. of Florida and Jonas of San Bernardino.
