Funeral services were held for Mable Boykin Lucas, 92, in Quitman, July 22, 2006 from Wright's Funeral Home Chapel. She died July 18, 2006.
Interment followed in Oddfellows Cemetery, Quitman with Rev. Lannis May officiating.
A resident of Quitman, Mrs. Lucas was a native of Clarke County and a longtime resident of Mobile, Ala. She visited Lucedale often and resident in Lucedale for a year. She was a member of the Plateau Church of Christ. Mrs. lucas lived in Clarke County with her sister, Hettie Ruthe Beckman, for several years before moving to Golden Meadows Assisted Living Facility. She enjoyed returning to Clarke County to live and made many friends.
She is survived by her son, Robert J. Lucas, Jr. and wife, Murphy Lucas of Lucedale; two granddaughters, Robbie Lucas Wrigley (Randy) of Ocean Springs, and Kelly Lucas of Ocean Springs; two step great-granddaughters, Jacqueline Wrigley and Nikki Wrigley of Ocean Springs, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, R. J. Lucas, Sr, and daughter, Sue Carroll Lucas; two brothers, Walter S. Boykin and Charlie Boykin; seven sisters, Euna Boykin May, Virgie Boykin Mason, Ophella Boykin, Mary Ellen Boykin Williams, Hettie Ruth Boykin Beckman, Ernestine Boykin May and Ida Boykin Sykes.

Pallbearers were Jackie Herrington, Terry Beckman, Eddie Herrington, Terry Hamrick, Roy May and Mark May.
