Dave was born in the Bowman Community in Archer County. He was the son of G. R. and Ida Decker. His parents are buried in Bowman Cemetery in Archer County. Dave retired from American Petrofina Oil Company. His first wife,Lillie Vestal Decker, died 12 February 1932 and is buried in Rosemont Cemetery. They were the parents of Harold Lee Decker, Elbie Decker, Eddie Daniel Decker and Edna Janette Decker. After Lillie's death, he married Callie Alberta Decker Fisher. She died 19 November 1958 and is buried in Crestview Memorial Park in Wichita Falls.
