John Henry Barnes was born in Wise County on Sept 9, 1882 to Ad Barnes and Mary Ramsey. He was a farmer and member of the First Baptist Church of Springtown. He married Addie Reynolds and had 10 children. He died Mar 21, 1967 in the Azle Hospital, Azle, Tarrant County, Texas.
Survivors were wife, Addie Reynolds Barnes; Mrs. Maudie Finley of Tulsa, Lou Bailey of Lake Worth, Mary Linker of Fort Worth, Aggie Lee Farquhar of Lake Worth, John A. Barnes of Boyd, Bill Barnes of Lake Worth, Burl Barnes of Lake Worth, Claude Banres of Lake Worth, Floyd Barnes of Del Rio, and Melvin of Fort Worth. 28 Grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren.
Services were held in the 1st Baptist Church of Springtown on Thursday Mar 23, 1967 with Bill Smith officiating.
