She died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, in Rogers, Ark.
She was born Sept. 12, 1911, in Hayworth, Okla. She married Leonard Garner Clemmons in Nashville, Ark., where they lived until 1952. He died in 1973. In 1952, she moved to Lubbock, where she lived and worked. She retired from West Texas Hospital as a head cook.
She married Jimmy Ayers in 1986. He died in 1990. She moved to Nashville in 1992.
Survivors include three sons, L.G. Clemmons of Texarkana, Ark., Johnny Clemmons of Austin and Gary Clemmons of Lubbock; three daughters, Eluese Evans of Nashville, Bonnie Day of Burleson and Janet Evens of Rogers, Ark.; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
